What are the benefits of a solution based on pyrotechnic nuts for space separation?

Our pyro separation nuts offer long proven advantages:

• The very high energy density is a native advantage of pyrotechnics which allows reducing the size of the products.
• The systematic testing of all mechanical parts in-factory together with the redundancy of the initiators lead to unmatched reliability figures.
• The millisecond operation time scale and the very low standard deviation associated ensure a perfect synchronicity for a multiple points release.

And over time, we have also developed ultra-low-shock technologies that make sure we take care of the sensitive payloads hold by our mechanisms. We have recently reduced the shock induced by our mechanisms by a factor 4 without degrading the benefits already acquired.

Last but not least, keep in mind that our separation nuts can under certain conditions get out of “pyro class” and be operated as non-pyro equipment.
